David Greenspan has been involved in the video game business for over 25 years working independently and in Business and Legal Affairs for some of the most significant video game publishers at the time in the industry. He has worked for Sony, THQ, Bandai Namco Entertainment America, and Midway Games.
Although he is terrible at playing games, he has worked on the day-to-day business and legal issues on more than 100 video games, covering all aspects of video game development, publishing, licensing, distribution, and marketing. He has negotiated hundreds of agreements involving major game developers, publishers, distributors, motion picture studios, professional sports leagues, television networks, and advertisers.
David was the lead author of the WIPO publication entitled Mastering The Game: Business and Legal Issues for Video Game Developers. According to WIPO, the book has been downloaded more than 200,000 times. Mr. Greenspan is also the co-author of the 2nd edition, released in 2022, and
available as a free download.
Mr. Greenspan has taught classes for more than 20 years, covering video games, the film industry, entertainment law, licensing, and international business primary focusing on transactional issues. He has also lectured about the video game industry throughout the world, including many countries in the Americas, Asia, and Europe.
